Tour Description/Daily Itinerary:
Costa Rica…it’s like visiting the Grand Canyon, the Amazon River and Hawaii all in the same location. Lush vegetation, wild animals and pristine beaches untouched by the modern world will allow you to enjoy nature at its best.
DAY 1 – San Jose
Upon arrival in San Jose, transfer to your hotel and enjoy a welcome reception in the gardens. Ramada Herradura or similar, San Jose
DAY 2 – San Jose Tortuguero National Park
A must see will be the National Theater and the National Museum in order to understand the rich history of Costa Rica. Afterward we will learn about the three main Eco-systems we will be visiting at the Bio-Diversity Center. Next, we visit the Gold Museum. Our journey then takes us east to Tortuguero National Park. Finally, we wind through the rivers and canals of Tortuguero National Park by small boat. Our boat will dock at our resort hotel located in the midst of the rainforest where we will spend two unforgettable nights! Evergreen Lodge or similar, Tortuguero (B,D)
DAY 3 – Tortuguero National Park
Today, we board our private boat for a guided cruise of Tortuguero National Park. Evergreen Lodge or similar, Tortuguero (B,L,D)
DAY 4 – Tortuguero La Fortuna & Arenal Volcano
Our journey continues by boat and takes us over mountains and through small villages as we travel into the northern region of Costa Rica to La Fortuna. Here, you’ll see the Arenal Volcano which rises 5,436 feet above sea level and is one of the most active on planet earth, spewing lava every few minutes! DAY 5 – Arenal Volcano
Today see the forest from the treetops as we walk the Arenal Hanging Bridges. Later it’s on to the Hot Springs that are naturally heated by this volcano for an opportunity to swim in its therapeutic waters. Our local naturalist guide will give us an education about the diversity of this enchanting country. Hotel Montana de Fuego or similar, La Fortuna (B,D)
DAY 6 – Arenal Volcano Mid Pacific Region
We continue this fascinating journey as we travel to the Mid Pacific Region and Pacific Coast. Today we will stop at the Orchimex, a complex that grows the national flower, the orchid. Later today we arrive at the Pacific Coast and Jaco Beach. Hotel Amapola or similar, Mid Pacific Coast (B,D)
DAY 7 – Manuel Antonio National Park
We travel south to Manuel Antonio National Park today. This park is one of the most visited destinations in all of Costa Rica due to its flora, fauna, amazing sunsets and beautiful beaches. While enjoying the views, you will encounter White-faced and Squire Monkeys, two-toe sloths and much more. Hotel Amapola or similar, Mid Pacific Coast (B,D)
DAY 8 – Mid Pacific at Leisure
Today has been set aside for your personal enjoyment. Hotel Amapola or similar, Mid Pacific Coast (B)
DAY 9 – Home
Today we return to San Jose for our flight back to the USA. (B)
